A Day Late

A day late & A Dollar short. That is the term that comes to mind for me.

I’m currently participating in one hundred-day challenge. The challenge is doing something for the next 100 days. I have chosen to make a blog post every day. So far so good. Well up until I got up this morning feeling wonderful and good and realize I forgot to make a blog post yesterday! Say what??!!! I couldn’t believe I forgot…. I’ve been so committed to this process that I was mortified to realize I forgot. However, I’m here to make up for yesterday with this post! Our plates may get full and things that are on our list to do we can forget, but we are here and we are committed to this process. Although we are a day late on the post (I will backdate this to yesterday’s date) I’m still committed to the process. Here’s to the #100daydreamchallenge and staying committed to the challenge!

For over a decade we’ve have been a special event photographer.

Birthday Parties , Anniversaries Baby showers Girls Night Out Workshops Conferences you name it we’ve captured. Being a special event photographer has so many perks. One thing you are indeed at a party like all the time. You also get to meet an array of beautiful people on the inside and out. You get a chance to visit many different venues. You see a variety of ideas and concepts for celebrations…. did I mentioned the food…. it’s seems like every event the hosts always wants to make sure you get a plate and eat!!! Next is the amazing dessert you get to experience all types of goodness from delicious cakes cupcakes brownies chocolate cover strawberries pretzels… you name it… we’ve captured… and one of the main experiences from being a social event photographer is the history that you are recording… ⠀

They say everyday a person has over 60,000 thoughts. For awhile I’ve been wanting to just write something everyday. It wasn’t until recently that I took on this #100daydreamchallenge and decide to challenge myself to write on this blog everyday. Somedays I have a plan of what I want to write about other days not so much, I pull up late evening and remind myself…. don’t forget to blog something today. Yay we made it! We officially have made it halfway through our #100daydreamchallenge.

We joined one of our favorite social media influencer Brother Ben X for a challenge of doing something for 100 days straight. I decided I wanted to commit to blog posting for the next 100 days straight.

Yes, indeed you heard me 100 days straight of blogging. I was inspired several years ago to blog or write everyday by Seth Godin. If you follow his blog or you receive emails from him, It’s something written everyday to his audience. Most times that I write or have thoughts about something I either pull out my notebook and write or take out my phone and jot down notes on the app. When I write I date everything I do. During this challenge, many times I was able to refer back to many of my previous notes and thoughts to provide myself with word for the blog. It allow me when I didn’t feel like I had much to say, I was able to pull out from the archive that has already been written. So today we celebrate as we continue on this journey. We are officially half way there. Yay Me!!!

The Power of Persistence

Consistency and Persistence are two powerful things. When you become persistence about something in your life and you keep pushing and pushing eventually you are going to wind up with whatever it is that you were after and it’s the same with consistency, when you have set a goal for yourself and you keep showing up day in and out you eventually will achieve that with what you were after.

So my Goal this year is to keep showing up night after night with consistency in writing on this word pad (blog). It’s important that I get my thoughts out.

Random Word Dump Challenge

I ran out of words

So recently I did something that I haven't done in awhile and that was to do a random word dump.

I know your asking what is that??!! That is when I take out a piece of paper and I feel it up with random words without stopping. Once I begin the goal is to feel up the sheet with words that come to mind until I completely fill up the page. This technique or exercise I use as apart of a meditation process.

At times in my life the world just seems to be moving so very fast around you and I sometimes get so caught up in the everyday hustle bustle of life, I need a moment in order to slow down and process all that is happening.

5-7 stillness meditations

The funny thing is while I was doing the random word dump challenge, I begin to slow down and think to long about what these random thoughts and words were going to be next on the paper.

I realize I definitely need to put this back into my regular routine because the way I begin to slow down, I was questioning myself and my thoughts :)

We completed the random word dump and we did fill up the page.
